If you're a purist your mg used a D type 3syncro in 66. IF you want a stronger trans,all syncro,LH get one from a 68-74.25 model slight adaptations to fit your 66 but worth it.

I pain $650 for a used black label, plus a quote of $850 to swap in/out. I ended up paying the guys $1000 because they ended up replacing the throwout bearing and worked overtime to get it finished....

I was lucky. Bought an old od gearbox from a friend who was moving for $600. Then I paid $4000 to have it rebuilt using a few bits from my old box. Worth the expense and still original parts. Harry.
